Post Treatment Effects

Treatment approaches are guided by the nature of the condition. In some instances there is a strong Relaxation focus. However, the majority of cases are experiencing chronic pain. Remedial Therapy aims to clear distortion and strain from overuse, injury, postural and structural anomalies. Entrenched fascial tightness and restriction impacts energetic Qi flow generating subtle thickening and tightening through the connective tissue that escalates to pain and dysfunction. In the presence of high degrees of pain, this can be reduced significantly by preliminary gentle Indirect Fascial Release technique before progressing to Deep Tissue work should that be necessary. There will be a degree of Relaxation in these treatments...this is normal with hands on physical therapy...yet it may cause temporary discomfort following treatment.

• The first massage is the most intense.

• Lymphatic Drainage accelerates the flow of lymphatic fluid from lymphatic nodes and capillaries into the blood stream. It is common to temporarily feel unwell immediately following this treatment due to the accelerated lymphatic flow from nodal sites being directed into the blood stream.

• Deep Tissue Therapy stirring deep interstitial spaces of our flesh releases toxins, collected by the lymphatic system overnight and directed into the blood stream the following day. This may cause feeling of unwellness until eliminated by kidneys. Generally felt in the morning after the first massage...drink some water.

• Tight muscles released may be sore and painful for few days. The degree of discomfort is a function of muscle tone and condition. When pain passes condition, strength & flexibility will be improved. The better the condition, the less discomfort experienced.

• These effects are temporary & diminish or disappear altogether as condition improves with subsequent massage treatment.

• It is part of the healing process. Clearing postural anomalies, improving energetic Qi flow improves mobility and internal health.
